  IN-PERSON CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION ENTRY LEVEL DRIVER TRAINING, COMPLETION, REQUIRED TO TAKE WRITTEN CLP TEST. IN-PERSON INSTRUCTION IS  MANDATORY EVEN IF YOU HAVE CLP.

INCLUDES ELDT BEHIND THE WHEEL TRAINING. BOTH RANGE TRAINING AND PUBLIC ROAD TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED  FOR YOUR FINAL AND MANDATORY PORTION OF YOUR ELDT CERTIFICATE.

 The skills test, which includes a pre-trip inspection, vehicle control skills, and an on-road driving test specifically for combination vehicles. 

 Take the CDL Skills Test: On the day of your skills test, demonstrate your proficiency in operating a vehicle with air brakes. You will be evaluated on your ability to perform a pre-trip inspection of the air brake system, properly apply and release the brakes, and respond to simulated driving situations. 

 Take the Skills Test: On the day of your skills test, demonstrate your ability to safely operate the vehicle, perform various maneuvers, and handle the manual transmission effectively. The test will assess your proficiency in areas such as vehicle control, backing 

PROIR TO SCHEDULE A CDL SKILLS TEST WITH US, Submit Application and Fees: Complete the application for a Class A CDL with the Texas DPS and pay any applicable fees for license issuance and endorsements.

THEN Undergo a Skills Test in a Class A Vehicle: Ensure that your CDL skills test is conducted using a Class A vehicle to qualify for the upgrade. The skills test must be completed in a vehicle representative of the class and type of license you are seeking. If you need a vehicle you can rent o
